I am heading out the door now for a weekend getaway but have a quick update on SIP quotes for the project. I have received quotes from four of the seven companies I requested bids from. I have agreed not to disclose exact pricing from each vendor at this time so for now I will just say that there were three companies that came in less than $20K for each home and one that did not.
Each of the quotes included similar packages with everything needed to connect and seal the SIPs. All were also for prefabricated panels with all window and door cutouts complete from the factory. All were for roughly 4.5″ EPS panels for the walls and 8″ or 10″ panels for the roof. Structural supports for the roof will need to be determined further and were not included in the quotes either.
Overall I am pleased with the quotes and feel that we have a good chance to be able to use SIPs at this point. The true test will be our builder’s thoughts on Tuesday compared to traditional framing and the insulation options mentioned earlier this week.
That’s all for now. Have a great weekend everyone!
