Last night we took part in a great event at Johnny Brenda’s called Ignite Philly. It is basically where a bunch of geeks like us get up and present about their projects. The catch is that you only get 20 slides and they automatically rotate after 15 seconds.

I had no idea what to expect of the event but it turned out great. The place was packed and full of energy for over four hours straight. The groups below were responsible for bringing this format to Philly and they did a great job. If you haven’t heard of any of them before check ‘em out. These are just some of the groups that are seemingly emerging every month to continually transform Philly into a more creative, collaborative, prosperous and just plain fun place to live and work.
Also, if you made the event and are reading this, give a shout in the comments below to my boy Nic Darling for stealing the show with his presentation. Just the right mix of beer, lack of sleep and inadequate preparation make Nic a perfect presenter.
Back to the point of this post. Check out these groups if you love Philly:

This sounds a lot like Pecha-Kucha.
Pecha-Kucha is oriented towards designers though, 20 images, 20 seconds each, make your presentation within the 5-6 minutes that represents.

Thanks for presenting last night. It is an inspiring project and I am so glad that more people found out about it.
And, yes, Nic brought the house down!
Woot for Nic!
IgnitePhilly was inspiring, as was your 100K house project– I’m so glad I was able to learn about it.
We could sure use some 100K houses in Wilmington!
Nic, your presentation was killer! Great work. Those drawings were great. Can you post the URL of the artist here?
Thanks everyone. I appreciate the support. We had a great time putting the presentation together, and delivering that sort of thing before such an excited audience is always a lot of fun.
The drawings were done by Matt Maloney. His site (which he is currently in the process of improving) is ww.mybigmuddy.com. Check him out.
please post here when the video is up at the ignite site
